For grown-ups

Your child just practised something quietly powerful: naming feelings. They met the idea that feelings are like weather — they arrive and they pass — that all feelings are okay, and that big feelings get smaller when we name them and use a calm trick. The habit they’re taking home is M.O.O.D.

A LOVELY THING TO TRY TONIGHT

At bedtime, ask “what was the weather in your heart today?” Let them name it, no fixing needed. Naming a feeling out loud, with a calm grown-up nearby, is one of the simplest ways to help it settle.

SKIDS CARES FOR THE WHOLE CHILD

Emotional wellbeing is part of whole-child care at SKIDS — alongside vision, hearing, growth, sleep and more. This is everyday emotional literacy: warm, supportive, and for every child. It is not a test, a label, or a diagnosis — just gentle words to help kids understand their feelings.
